that's what I'm saying. ICEs methods are not about deporting as many people as efficiently as possible. it is about expanding federal agents powers to detain people on the flimsiest of pretext and to hold those people without connection to the outside world including lawyers. it is about gaining these powers and normalizing it. it is very clever that they are debuting these powers using them on a group that many people disdain but IT WILL NOT STOP THERE.

Know those little cameras with solar panels on the road? Flock Safety’s data collection of license plates, vehicle details and travel data being shared and stored without consent and shared with federal agencies like ICE and private companies. Massive surveillance of the public. As well as the use of SoundThinking (formerly ShotSpotters) as listening posts for mass surveillance with Flock Safety. There is a lack of oversight, huge potential for abuse, this is warrantless surveillance, it is also violation of the 4th Amendment as well as potential Privacy Act violations with some states ruling these are public records now and that a lot of this data is being integrated with data brokers.
