I feel like the angel devil being a man was such a perfect choice to how is powers work, especially with him and akis relationship, everytime you touch him you life gets taken away and turned into a weapon. This mirrors aids in the 1980s perfectly, gay men in that time losing their life’s to the disease and then being used to fear monger homosexuality. I’m not sure if it was intentional but the Parallels are there, and knowing fujimoto I would believe it.

i found it interesting that in the movie the scenes with aki and angel were in direct relation to those of reze and denji. if i remember corectly when reze was choking that guy out in the rain and was singing about "going to church with jane", there were scenes of aki and angel riding together in the car. also the conversation of the country vs city mouse first being introduced when reze asked denji and later we are shown angel asking aki the same question. idk if there were really parallales or not but i found it interesting how those two relationship were kinda growing alongside eachother.
