@mariajames102: What about exemptions? Do they mean that my school will never get to benefit from lower class sizes? Answer: NO. Many exemptions indicate quite the opposite. Exemptions were given out to 1) schools that have a current sited construction project in their zone that is expected to give them more capacity to reduce class sizes, as they are well on their way to being compliant, and 2) specialized high schools. These exemptions are only for one year and must be re considered if they need to be extended. Principals can not apply for exemptions. Schools that received exemptions can and should still apply for more teachers in their class size survey if they can reduce class sizes.
