literally ended some friendships because they only see romantic love as the valuable kind of love despite having friends who gives them lots of love

This is so true. That’s y even tho I am never in a relationship, but I still feel loved bcuz the love comes from my family, relatives, friends, co-workers fill my heart. All the love we share has me fulfilled that I never feel like I am lacking, so I never seek relationship. Love come in different shapes, so we can feel it in different ways as well.

My whole life opened up when I realized this. My plutonic relationships have filled my cup more than any romantic one ever could. It was just a lie, one that's fed to everyone by societies that thrive on a nuclear family system. Love is everywhere!

truee!, a lot of the time people overgeneralize the idea that they dont deserve love and that overgeneralization makes it look like "love" is an exclusive thing, but in fact love is everywhere we want it to be!

As a lithuanian, I have no idea what movie she watched, but I doubt its end message was something so superficial. I think the cultural context you should know about the country is that it's awfully socially detached, as most eastern European countries are. Loneliness is an awful problem and with it comes depression and suicide rates. It's not as though we don't have family or friends, but that there is a constant social distance between them still that is constantly maintained. The thing is, I doubt the character she's mentioning had experienced the types of love she's trying to counterargue with. After which, the only thing you can turn to is some relationship you've not experienced. The tragedy isn't a failure to have a romantic relationship but a failure to escape one's loneliness. No person who's achieved intimacy through friends or family is actually desperate for a romantic relationship, unless it's out of social expectation

I would agree but again even if you were sparing no words (which you were) it could've been so much more concise and clear. Especially since you contradicted yourself from the start just to say you wanted to consider those who want more than the love they already have.
