Hay-Adams: built on the site of former homes of John Jay (priv sec of Abe Lincoln) & Henry Adams (renowned historian & writer). Both men & their wives were besties - along Clarence King geologist and writer; they called themselves the "five of hearts". They often through literary parties where folks like Mark Twain & Henry James were regulars. It was once to place to be, and since 1928, this hotel has been the place to be 👍🏾

I was just telling my friend the other day that the last time I stayed in The Hay-Adams I was in room 440 and I had a go sleep visitor that night and in the morning when I was talking to the guys in the lobby I said did you know your hotel was haunted and they said yes what room are you in? I told them he said that Clementine she killed herselfin that area of the hotel and she has been known to be seen and I was very privileged.
