I lost a friend to lake Chala last year. The people that were with him said that he died in a very mysterious way

That's my hometown, and I can honestly say that everything mentioned is true. It's a truly beautiful area with stunning scenery, though no one feels comfortable going close to the lake. They began building a lovely resort there, but the project was never completed because strange and unsettling things kept happening.

When the locals tell you, "you should not go there,". Think twice 😳

When I was 19 I worked at Lake Challa on the site of a Lodge, Lake Challa Lodge, that was being built. That place still scares me until today. There were faint voices and whispers and the constant feeling of being watched. In some spot you feel like you can't breathe. I was always feeling like I needed to cough. Also the worst Migranes and so many accidents at the construction site that was just too much... and when I would leave the site and go down the hill to where I was staying... I would be completely fine and no constant voices and whispers, the feeling of being watched or the cough. I was scared to go to work each morning. After 3 weeks I left and I have never gone back...and I am 52! 🙆🏽♀️

In Africa, most of the siren stories are linked to river, lake etc

that lake is a sacrificing lake ... people take their sacrifices there especially the witches and witch doctors ...it is a spiritual bad lake ...the wasukuma and people who speak similar to kikuyu from Kenya use it oftenly

Glad my developed fear of water has really helped me out because apparently any large body of water is terrifying 😅

When you gaze at calm waters, something pulls you in... like you literally feel the urge to go in...
Water is spiritual

I heard that it has underground inlet and outlet and that the bodies of people that drowned in the lake would be found in the Indian Ocean which is approximately 250km away 👀👀

the lake has an underground river, it's also as you said a Crater lake formed from a collapsed volcano. The point is no one knows where the underground river goes to hence if drown and and you are pulled into the underground outlet, you are never going to be found.

I was there a couple of months ago and even swam in it. But there was just something very off about it. Although i kept close to the shore, at some point something yanked on my leg as if pulling me down and that was the end of my swimming for the day. Not after hearing all those disappearing stories. 😧

They're crater lakes so the force pulls inwardly that's why it looks calm on the surface because most of geo activity is happening in the bottom.
