Even tho it’s sucks, the way the detective handled this the case will probably be thrown out. The detective violated his Miranda rights and Edwards protections. Once he said “I think I want a lawyer” questioning should have stopped. Yes it can be argued as an “ambiguous” request but the detectives response of “I’m gonna respect your request” clearly shows the detective knew what he was requesting. The search, questioning, evidence, and possibly case will probably be thrown out
