I've always wondered why are NHS shifts 12 hours? I understand that in maternity they don't want labouring women going through multiple midwives per birth, but it's a shift model that lots of departments run on.

My wife was told she needed to be induced and 12 hours later needed an emergency c-section. Our baby wasn’t yet ready to be born and we both feel that she was rushed into being induced and the c-section was as a result of that. Next time my wife has the power to make her own choices based on how her body and baby are feeling and I fully support her ❤️

i opted for a caesarean because i knew in an operating theatre they'd need the exact right amount of staff - in the midwife led unit they're often understaffed and under resourced. so glad i went with this option but we need better for everyone ❤️i hope she succeeds in her new career

I do wonder whether fear based society is what is causing more distress in young people. Screens become our safety because the outside world tells us to always be informed and prepared for danger.
