It always bums me out to know entire groups of animals have gone extinct leaving no descendants around. Can you imagine the canidae ancestor dying without descendants leaving us with no wolves, dogs, foxes, or coyotes? Seems miserable

I imagine it looked much different than depicted. often recreations are "shrink wrapped". look at this skull compared to a hippo, very similar.
