It always bums me out to know entire groups of animals have gone extinct leaving no descendants around. Can you imagine the canidae ancestor dying without descendants leaving us with no wolves, dogs, foxes, or coyotes? Seems miserable

I wonder a lot if the head really looked like that or if we are shrink wrapping it… idk why but it reminds me a lot of a hippopotamus skull but with flesh you’d never think that’s what the skull looked like

I imagine it looked much different than depicted. often recreations are "shrink wrapped". look at this skull compared to a hippo, very similar.
