@pagesix: Lizzo believes we, as a society, must “undo the effects of the Ozempic boom” because plus-sized women are being “erased.” Some moments from her vulnerable Substack entry ⬆️ 📸: Instagram, Getty
Lizzo losing weight but not becoming stick thin is exactly what body positivity should be. She’s still bigger but she’s said herself that she feels happier and has less mobility issues than before her weight loss. She looks great.

I’m glad she’s speaking out bc I think a lot of big girls felt abandoned by her but ultimately yes our bodies can be shields, emaciated or fat and I’m glad she did what she needed to start loving herself again. It’s a healthy neutral sentiment, while still uplifting the body pos movement without making it novel, bodies are not novel, they’re just there, wherever it falls on the scale.

This is important because people don't think larger people struggle with ED's. I was struggling but since I was losing weight no one noticed and kept congratulating me on my weight loss, I ended up in a nursing home for 2 years learning how to walk again, and suffered a traumatic brain injury due to lack of nutrients...

I don’t like her persona or as an artist, but this message might shed some light on binging and I love how she worded that the weight (just like hair) is stored energy. I actually thought the same thing and have been doing so much research on this.

I love her honesty and transparency. If I’m not mistaken, she lost her dad and it put her into a deep depression. It was so bad that she dropped out of college. This is at 21 years old. I can’t imagine having to cope with such a difficult loss. I’m proud of her for finding her way back and wanting to push passed the fact that she’s more than her body but she still wants to take care of herself. Having fat isn’t bad but it’s deeply personal to make changes that improve your quality of life mentally, physically, and emotionally.

I do have to say that your size inclusivity is what got me to be a yitty member. definitely bummed with how it seems to have been somewhat combined with fabletics now. It's back to displaying sizes by smallest first and I only see plus size girls as models when I select that as a viewing choice for item compared to before being able to see women of all sizes as the main models.

She’s so real for this. I’m “only” 230 now, (it took a couple years bc of my pcos but i managed to lose 20 pounds) but i realized that at least a small part of it was holding on to my weight out of fear and because of trauma. If I wasn’t thin anymore (and I used to be very underweight due to an ed) my mom would stop competing with me. If I wasn’t thin anymore, that was protecting myself from the sexual assault and unwanted pregnancy I’d suffered before. Even just the small bit weight loss and glamour work has gotten men to look at me again and it’s triggering honestly. If I stayed big, I wouldn’t be threatening to insecure people that took their self loathing out on me when I was thin. But I’m ready to let it go now. I don’t know how without falling back on the unhealthy things that kept me frail at my thinnest, because unfortunately with pcos that’s all that works, but I’m trying.

I had a binge disorder, I realized I had a problem when I ate a gallon tub of ice cream by myself. I weighed 215lbs and I hated myself. I had to rewrite my brain and now two years later I’m down 90lbs!!
