Not having maintenance records is a red flag because there are DIYers who do their own work and tons of people who have their own mechanic.

Oil color doesn’t indicate good or bad oil

black oil isnt necessarily a bad thing, it only means the oil is cleaning the engine like it should! However its an indication that maybe its time to change the oil, but it doesnt mean anything is wrong.

My truck was leaking transmission fluid when I bought it from the dealer. They couldn’t figure it out after 3 tries so he offered to knock 3k off the price. I had my guy come look at it and he gave me the go ahead. Got to his shop and he said it just needs u joints. 70k miles later it’s still running

I never keep my records, just not good at it. But I am very aware of maintenance and seeech for quality parts or use oem. I do most of my work. Best thing is check how the car runs and do physical checks. If things align well buy it if not walk away or price down for the amount of maintenance you may need. If a car needs big job like power train or engine light is on, transmission is lagging, steering has issues. Find a good mechanic to check the car for you even if you have to pay a fee

Get the frame and floor boards checked out. if the frame is rusted out it's not worth buying and is a safety concern.

When checking out a used vehicle, carry a code scanner because the seller could have reset the monitors for the smog. Bring a flashlight so when you take the oil cap off, you can look inside to see if there is sludge. Check all of the fluids if the vehicle has oil, transmission dipsticks.

🥔 Ground Beef Stuffed Baked Potatoes This version boils the potatoes first, then bakes them so they’re creamy inside and golden on top. 😍 Ingredients * 4 large russet potatoes * 1 lb ground beef * 1 small onion, finely chopped * 2 garlic cloves, minced * 1 tsp paprika * 1 tsp garlic powder * ½ tsp onion powder * Salt & black pepper * 2 tbsp butter * ½ cup sour cream * ¼ cup milk, more if needed * 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese * 1 tbsp olive oil * Chopped parsley or green onion for garnish Directions 1. Boil the potatoes: Wash the potatoes and leave the skins on. Place them whole in a pot, cover with salted water, and boil for about 20–30 minutes until tender but still firm enough to hold their shape. Drain and cool for a few minutes. 2. Cook the beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add onion and cook for 2–3 minutes. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Add garlic, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Cook another 2 minutes and drain any extra grease. 3. Prepare the potatoes: Cut each potato in half lengthwise. Carefully scoop out most of the inside, leaving about ¼ inch of potato around the skin so the shells don’t break. 4. Make them creamy: Mash the scooped potato with butter, sour cream, milk, ¾ cup cheddar, salt and pepper. Add another splash of milk if needed—the filling should be creamy but not runny. 5. Stuff: Spoon the mashed potato back into the potato skins. Add a generous amount of seasoned ground beef on top and sprinkle with the remaining cheddar. 6. Bake: Place on a baking sheet and bake at 425°F for 15–20 minutes. Broil for 1–2 minutes at the end until the cheese and potato edges are beautifully golden. Sprinkle with parsley or green onions and serve hot#potato
