I've worked in IT for years. I've seen hundreds of thousands billed out at $195 or higher for hungover 22 y.o. kids fresh out of college to do the simplest of tasks. Your rate is quite reasonable

I am PhD and I work in industry and sometimes have to hire other KOLs for different expertise. Lowest KOL rate I have seen is $350 an hour, and my base rate is $500 an hour.

I get $200/hour, 50% markup for anything with less than a 3-day deadline (spoiler that’s most work). $200/half an hour if I have to work with someone else (phone calls coordinate schedules, emails, etc).

Doctors (physicians, MDs) quote $1k for expert witness testimonies albeit established practices and experience. But $250-$400 is very reasonable for a new PhD in a niche field
