@dromethod: #creatorsearchinsights #painadvocacy, #chronicpain, #medicalgaslighting, #traumahealing, When your doctor says “your MRI looks normal,” your pain can get worse — not better. Being dismissed triggers stress → raises inflammation → increases pain sensitivity. (Ref: JAMA Network Open 2024;7(3):e245312) This isn’t “in your head.” It’s neurobiology. 40% of chronic pain patients experience medical dismissal — and most are women. (Ref: Pain, 2025) Being believed is medicine. Comment YES if this ever happened to you. Follow @thedromethod for science-backed healing.

13 years. Just to sit down and read my charts that I decided to download from my ER visits. Just to find out they wrote “muchausen syndrome” - which I am not. Then see another note from my gyno onco saying “self induced” pain. I cried. Mad. Then a year and half later, geneticist diagnosed me with MCAS, POTS, and Ehlers Danlos syndrome. Confirmed.

what about when they write things in your chart that you consider verbal discrimination a racist comment related to micro aggression

That is very interesting. I actually had a good appointment with a neurologist the other day. She even told me she didnt believe my tremors were from anxiety and even listened about my back pain and got an mri ordered. the next two days I actually felt less pain in my back and I felt lighter. it means the world to be heard.

Had a neurologist tell me he didn’t care about my migraine triggers, said he just “lumps them together”. Proceeded to prescribe me a second blood pressure medicine without asking what my bp was like on the current meds and then says,” well you know your opioids could be a trigger for your migraines so at your next appointment you should ask your pain doctor to take you off of them.” Like what happened to “I don’t care about the specific triggers”? I’ve been on them for 4 years at that point so why would I stop taking them for a doctor who wanted to tank my blood pressure and only cared about that one medicine being a trigger in the first visit. Never went back.

Yes. So, now I just refuse to ever seek medical treatment, no matter how bad I am feeling or how much pain I have. I would rather sit at home and suffer then to go through frustration and shame of a doctor invalidating my pain or illness.
