All the quick flashback shots of the “gang” at Shiz hanging out felt like such a lazy way to instill that the 5 of them were really close while at school… like you could’ve actually just SHOWN some of that in Part 1. Like I don’t think we had one instance where Glinda and Nessarose even talked to each other in either film but Glinda is crying over her death because we’re just told they were close friends at school

It should have been longer. They should have included more of why Fiyero chose to go with elphaba, more of the 5 of them being friends, etc. they had the liberty to embellish and make the story less rushed and I think that’s why it’s not as good.

A lot of people love Glinda because they ARE Glinda in real life. They live in their bubble and turn a blind eye to things that affect others who aren’t as privileged. It doesn’t help that Glinda is also played by Americas sweetheart Ariana.

I’m REALLY bothered by the fact that it’s a 4 hour, 2 movie feature that STILL found reasons to cut out important stuff from the play/book but added in songs for Ariana to sing to get her paycheck worth.

Hard agree on the lack of Bailey, Slater, and especially Domingo. If you can stretch out a two-hour musical into two separate films, you can take the time to give more presence to the side characters. And I really appreciate your additional points, too.

there were A LOT of plotholes. tho it might be acceptable on stage it is not acceptable when you make TWO long movies. if you choose to give us an extended version there better be NO plotholes!!! examples: Why did everyone (glinda included) believed suddenly that water killed elphaba? Why did fiyero go with Dorothy? and there's so much more......

Glindas ending is a lot more ambiguous in the stage musical and we are left not knowing if she is going to choose to do good or not. The movies choices were wild and unearned to me and made the politics of this movie even scarier

i was underwhelmed with nessa. she was barely mean, let alone the wicked witch of the east, we barely got tin man, the cowardly lion is … well is… the new songs interrupted the flow SO BAD and that time could’ve been used so much better. the camera in girl in the bubble took me out of the film so quickly. elphaba flew around too much

I was SO CONFUSED on why after everything elphaba went through and sang her own original song about, to all of a sudden give up and accept being known as wicked and run away from oz with fiyero.
