Do not spend money on non-OLED TV’s. Get the OLED.

I'm glad someone is being honest. I have zero issues with my TCL 55". Is it a top tier TV? No. Will a $3000 LG or Samsung look better? Probably. Do I care that much? Nope.

Is there a reason John prefers TLC this year?

I’ve had 2 TCLs and you get what you pay for. They died within 3 and 4 years respectively.

Yeah it'll be great. And 2 or 3 years later, you'll be replacing it.

Black Friday TVs are specifically made to be cheaper compared to the standard products even with the same models. Places like Walmart have specific products made cheap with slightly different model numbers designating BF models. You’re not necessarily getting a better deal - you are buying a lesser product for less money. I know this from experience in trying to exchange a faulty BF tv.

Looking at old bad TVs in the 90’s it’s insane how cheap TVs are now. They were $600 for box TVs in the late 90s!

I got the tcl qled last year for like $350. Pretty good tv. I also much prefer their user interface over Samsung. I didnt go with Hisense because i heard the audio sucks on them. But with my TCL i didnt even need a soundbar

The way to know if you have a good tv or 4K blue ray…it’s the remote! Heavy chunking remote = good tv. Small light weight is junk!

The reality is most folks are casual watchers who need a big set that looks decent. Most of the streaming services are streaming in compressed quality anyway.
