you can skip an entire step if you just transfer the design from the original paper to the linocut as long as the design is in pencil

I like inking over my block first so as I carve away, the pink is revealed and I remember better what’s supposed to be light and what’s going to be dark.

I got into this by using pink erasers and an x-acto knife! it's a bit more work (I think) but it's easier to find the supplies if you don't have a good craft store nearby and can't order online 😁
