The fact that Obama, though a boomer, is 15 years younger than trump/19 than Biden and he has been out of office for almost 10 years now is why we are where we are. Progress is stifled by a generation unwilling to pass on the torch (and wealth).

Gen x wasnt interested(at large I still dont think they are interested)at all and I think thats part of the problem. Gen xers have very interesting relationship with things that are associated with their parent's generation. I think that since gen xers didn't really step up to take over in a way that their parents deemed worthy, the older generations very gladly held onto power. And now that we have a fair amount of young people (millennials and genz's) interested in get involved with a lot new ideas that the older generation genuinely do not like so the old heads continue to hold on, even with all the push back. That's what I think at least 🤷🏿♀️

Gen X here, I'm rooting for the millennials for the next presidency. I absolutely love millennials. Yes they are not without a problematic segments of the group, on the whole, millennials may have a better understanding of how past systems longer working i.e. pensions, work-life balance, life time careers, homeownership, etc. I believe they would be best to re-imagine how systems could be more equitable.

Actually, Gen Z can’t run for president in 2028. Because they are younger than 35 (young adults are banned from running as presidents, but not old people who passed the retirement age.)
