i’ve literally stopped using em dashes, purposely make grammatical errors, and gave up on the oxford comma bc of ai. i’ve essentially undone YEARS of learning just to pass my courses. makes me sad bc that was a huge part of my writer’s voice too— ms lemke would be gutted to see how i write now 💔

Prof here. Next semester I’m thinking of telling students that if they use ai they need to provide a link to their chat so I can see HOW they used it. If they just put in the prompt and have ai write it, we have a problem. If they use it in ways that promote learning (specific questions, improving grammar, etc), then it’s not cheating. Thoughts?

I got flagged for an Ai generated paper that was 100% authentic but when I produced my work (I recorded it to maybe post as a study with me for the first time ever lol) and the professor said she didn't have all day to watch my video (where you could see my computer) and gave me a zero. I had to report her to the Dean's Office who did watch the footage and gave me an A.

If you write anything with proper grammar it will be deemed ai, the world is falling apart and teachers can’t even trust that the students that are PAYING to go there aren’t faking their work.

what drives me insane is that they’ve been using Turnitin to check for ai for years, and ai companies paid Turnitin for those papers to train their AI. we don’t speak like AI, AI speaks like us

being a good writer in 2025 just isnt acceptable apparently. i hated this while i was in school. ive always been a good writer and have always loved it but it was always “too good” and my teachers had suspicions about ai 😐
