This footage shows EngineAI T800 humanoid robots trading punches, kicks, dodges and knockdowns during the URKL robot fighting event in Shanghai. The Shanghai stop took place on September 19, 2026 in Baoshan. 32 teams competed using the EngineAI T800, a full-size humanoid robot standing 1.73 meters tall. What caught my attention is how often the robots have to recover after contact. A kick can change the body position in a fraction of a second, forcing the robot to regain balance and continue moving while another machine is still attacking. That puts locomotion, balance recovery, perception, full-body control and reaction speed into the same arena. Robot fighting may look like entertainment, but these matches put humanoid robots through repeated impacts, falls and unpredictable movement that are hard to reproduce with a fixed motion sequence.
