Now what I didn’t know was that Korea acknowledged and taught in school. That’s amazing. And I will say if anybody can go toe to toe with us and fried chicken, it is Koreans!!! 🤎🫶🏾

I’m such a big ssa baby cause why this made me tear up? 😭 The thought of soldiers in the midst of war stopping to share their culture while fighting racism at home speaks meaaures about blacknpeople. Thanks for sharing. ❤

It’s really a shame that we weren’t taught a lot about Asian history as whole. Like it’s very little that’s taught, and come to think of it, I don’t think I was taught anything about Korea, just China and Vietnam—again, both topics had very little content taught to us.

there have been SO MANY visible Asian and Korean chefs that have shared this history. It was never appropriate. I seriously feel like the second I even started hearing about Korean food chicken, the next minute I was hearing Koreans sharing where it came from.

I learned real history immediately after high school. I had to unlearn everything. I graduated from Jefferson Davis HS in Montgomery Ala. The daughters of the confederacy stickers were in my text books. BTW, I also make homemade Kimchi. Thank you for sharing your stories.Be blessed, eat rice. 😁
