@christwithus78: It seems like the most dangerous trend is using things like perimenopause or work stress as an excuse for bad behavior. When you blame, you just be lame. It's what Adam did in the garden: "It's not my fault, it's her fault!"#christians #ChristianMarriage #Spiritual #Maturity #Responsibility
This guy needs to talk to a doctor that has studied blood results on women of this age. This generation has it harder than others because our food is different than what our mothers and grandmothers consumed prior to when they had it.

Whoa this is so wrong! Perimenopause absolutely exists n is very much proven. It shouldn’t be used as an excuse but as a way to help women regulate their hormones. It’s a time for a marriage to work harder together n is a time of trial but not an excuse. He is very wrong here. I know MANY Christian women in perimenopause n they work as a team w their spouses to help them regulate their hormones n have a stronger marriage bc of it

As a man with Hashimotos, hormones issues can absolutely alter your mental state without you having control over it. I was hospitalized for psychosis and mania in a Thyroid storm due to hormone issues.

Menopausal here….. this is sooo wrong. Have never felt this way in my life! Days I totally feel mentally unstable. It’s a real thing. But I do know this is a temporary thing also.

I do agree that it is my fault. But it is real. I can feel it. Things that normally didn’t bother me, are intensified 100%. I know in my heart that is shouldn’t bother me but my mind says something else. So what should I do? I feel I need a little grace. I’m trying!!! It’s like I’m being pulled in 2 directions.

I don’t think this is inaccurate. It’s similar to a man’s midlife crisis we just don’t buy sports cars and have affairs with 20 yr olds. It’s an uptick on both sides for sure. People need accountability and to be mature enough to get help and have a spouse mature enough to help you through it without leaving when life gets hard. It’s a cycle that also needs understanding and prayer for mental health because it’s an easy time for Satan to seep in a marriage.

Thank God my husband is loving and understanding about hormones, and perimenopause/menopause and doesn’t try to gaslight me or women with scripture. This happened in the past as well, except they put women in mental hospitals because the woman must have mental issues if they aren’t acting normal.

I felt bad in so many other ways besides irritable. I never blamed anyone, I just knew I felt bad and wanted to know why. When your blood work is off, that is a true problem not just blame.

I’ve agreed with you until now, but I paused and honestly checked my heart. I am in menopause, and while I still recognize and take responsibility when I have a poor attitude, I am experiencing changes I never had before. Science shows that hormonal shifts during menopause directly affect brain chemistry and emotional regulation. This doesn’t remove accountability, but it does explain why emotions can feel stronger in this season.
