Even after all these years in China, I still can’t get over how cheap electricity is compared to the UK. This was my first time charging an EV that’s been at the top of our wishlist for ages, and I genuinely wasn’t expecting the total cost to work out at just around 1.3 yuan per kWh (about $0.18 / £0.14), including all the fees. It wasn’t even the cheapest thing I’d charged this week—I fully charged my e-bike for just 1 yuan (around 15¢ / 11p).
