I have seen a lot about this lately. I’ve definitely been thinking about it, however, I’m interested in in OBGYN/fertility— is that even an option when you join.. I can’t imagine that would be a specialty the military would need..

I love being a debt free queen! 💅 Took an Indian Health Service Scholarship and worked for the Shawnee tribe for four years. 💕

Is it true that you are not allowed to pick your specialty? It is picked for you?

I don’t know. At least for me in Nsurg the years tI would have owed back to the army after training would really add up and delay my practice development.

My buddy in medical school did this, our medical school was actually very inexpensive. But, he loved being in the military. It was a solid choice for him. And then you get the option of staying in and if you do, you will likely still have time to have a civilian career afterwards. Congratulations! So fun being a doctor.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Son is a MS4 at USUHS. Med school paid for as well as paid to attend. Golden handcuffs for a while. But worth it!

Always curious from a financial standpoint if it makes sense? Loans vs higher pay in private practice vs no loans but lower pay active duty.
