@registerednursern.com: Nusing Quiz: Spot the Mistakes in This Lovenox Injection Clip... Here were the big mistakes in this clip: 1. Improper cleaning. Cleaning should be done at least 15-20 seconds starting at the center and then using a circling motion from center to around 2" away (or per facility protocols). Allow it to dry completely. 2. Removing the air bubble. The prefilled syringes have the air bubble placed inside on purpose for these subcutaneous injections. It helps enable all of the medication to be injected, and prevents bruising. However, we generally DO want to remove air bubbles for other things, such as starting IVs or injecting into the vascular system. 3. Inject at least 2" AWAY from navel, and do NOT aspirate prior to the injection. 4. Keep the skinfold pinched until AFTER you inject the medication and remove the needle. Then release the pinched skin. 5. Do not massage or rub the area after the injection. Note: sometimes things change, so always verify the latest medication instructions and your facility's protocols before performing nursing skills. #nursing #nurse #fyp #nursingschool #LearnOnTikTok
The bubble has some numbing medication in it because lovenox burns
