I’m sharing this as a heads-up for anyone currently considering a Toyota bZ. I own a 2026 Toyota bZ, and a few weeks ago the vehicle suddenly lost all power while I was driving. There was no meaningful warning beforehand. The car simply shut down. I had passengers with me, and the situation could have turned out much worse than it did. I was extremely lucky nothing serious happened. The car has now been at the dealership for weeks. So far, there has been no clear explanation of what caused the failure and no timeline for when it will be safely resolved. Communication from both the dealership and Toyota corporate has been minimal and vague.
