don't u think that Yohannes was naive or even stupid to simply let menelik be after his supposed "submission"? I mean after all the leeche agreement was a pure diplomatic victory for menelik... he got the freedom to expand southwards and eastwards and somehow Yohannes added a clause preventing menelik from forming external diplomatic ties as if he had the power to enforce such a demand😭 at the end Yohannes couldn't achieve half of what menelik could and even comparing their achievement quickly gets embarrassing for Yohannes 😭

There is a reason Emperor Menilk effortlessly seized the crown from Yohannis' heir, and no one in Tigray could come close to challenging Emperor menilk. that power gap was so far in such short amount of time that ras alula Yohannis right hand man and ras Mengesha started writing letters to Italians begging them to attack Emperor menilk. lol
