A simple homemade conductivity meter explores how electricity travels through different solutions and reveal the hidden chemistry inside everyday substances. The setup uses a 9V battery, a holiday light, and aluminum foil acting as connected to two exposed probes that are placed into solutions. Pure water conducts electricity very poorly, but when acids, bases, or salts dissolve in water, they separate into charged particles called ions that allow electrical current to flow, causing the light or sound to activate. The stronger the signal, the more ions are present in the solution, helping us connect conductivity to the chemical behavior of substances. #TikTokLearningCampaign #LearnOnTikTok #TikTokPartner #STEM #chemistry
