From a psych.nurse: this is a very common response for any person with an OCD disorder (like hoarding), it’s his way to try to maintain some kind of control, I’m sorry that happened to you, but believe that you guys did absolutely AMAZING! 💜

Sounds like my grandpa, he was so terribly abusive towards his home helpers, never physically but just his manner, it was awful. The dementia changed him a lot.

hoarding is a very serious condition, it's related to trauma and people living with it feel immense worry and pain when forced to get rid of anything, even trash 🌞 please be patient

As someone with a very grumpy grandpa who would be absolutly not thankful and also ashamed, you helped the family! And the care persons he has! And maybe, after some time he would say, yes thats better. But never if someone could hear him. You did a gread job! Thats for sure

definatly don't take it personal. i know deep down he is gratefull and relieved. but as a verry private autistic person myself i know it is verry hard to hand all control to someone you don't fully trust and it is verry overwelming. things that might look like trash to 1 might be a verry emotional memorie to someone else.
