@memezar: How dare they do that… Pretending to be sick to get out of work is one of those guilty little traditions almost everyone has tried at least once. You wake up, stare at the ceiling, and realise there is no universe in which you can deal with customers, coworkers, or responsibility today. So you put on your best croaky voice, send that “not feeling well 😷” message, and immediately feel both relieved and slightly evil. Then comes the performance of the day: avoiding posting anything on social media, keeping your phone volume low in case your boss calls, and doing absolutely nothing that could contradict your “illness.” You spend the morning wrapped in a blanket like you’re auditioning for a drama role, even though you feel fine. And even with the guilt, that unexpected day off hits so good it almost feels like medicine in itself.
