Unmedicated?! In a hospital?! Standing?! Unheard of. People usually say " the hospital let you do that?!" And I'm here to say yes, you can have the birth you want at the hospital! I have had the absolute privilege of giving birth to all 4 of my babies pain medication free in a hospital setting. Which I KNOW is shocking to people. Not because of my ability but because of the hospital stigma ! People always say " they LET YOU do that?!" - I'm on my way to doing it again and I'm going to be sharing tip, tricks, things I've learned along the way so if you're expecting, want to be OR just want to follow the journey ... hit follow or share with someone who is! This was me with my third, after 2 days of labor, 2 days of failed inductions, threats of c-sections and it all ended in the most perfect way. Each labor has been unique! I've been induced medically 3 times. With pitocin & cervidil. All my plans for a labor on my own went out the window but I was able to stick to my plan. You see that nurse in the back? @tara_r11. She's now MY DOCTOR Tara was the nurse on duty when I was giving birth to my first daughter 7 years ago. I always say she saved me. I had been laboring for 24 hours and pushing for 6. She walked in and knew exactly what to do. When I was pregnant with my second, I asked the internet if the could find her AND THEY DID. Since then, she's been present at every one of my births and NOW she has become a nurse practitioner at the OB, I attend talk about full circle. She is an angel on earth and I count myself lucky to have her on my team. The hospital can be scary but as long as you know what you want, make sure you have a good team, and go in prepared ... you can have a beautiful experience ! EXCITED TO SHARE THIS NEXT JOURNEY WITH YOU ALL!
