It’s usually because with a lot of returns, you need to call your manager to do it with you or have them do it. Also it can be a long process even if you do it by yourself and the timing matters as well. If there are a lot of customers in a line, etc. It makes things inefficient but returning is understandable when it’s not busy, it’s just rush hour is the worst time to ask for a return.
