@keithhbowman: This is a 2015 Hyundai Sonata SE with the 2.4L Theta 2 engine. People say they're problematic but honestly they are solid car. the Valve cover gasket does wear out fairly quickly on these cars, but if caught early enough it can prevent other issues. #LIVEIncentiveProgram #SpareMomentsLIVE #PaidPartnership
Bit late but what did you end up doing to fix this? Just head gasket? This happened to me and they ended up replacing the high pressure fuel pump as well, made it about $700 1/2

Idk :
I have a Kia forte with the same motor, it has a tick at 2-4k rpm. They told me because I would step on it, that’s my fault. It also leaks oil like that, because it needs a new gasket. I don’t know how much longer she’s going to last, but other than that. That motor has been so good, and Kia has been such a good brand from what I’ve had

Following cuz I'm picking up my 19 sonata se tomorrow. I signed up for the oil maintenance package because the bank offered a longer term with the same interest rate resulting in a lower payment. That will get me 3 oil changes a year so I don't have to worry about putting it off due to low funds when it's time. They also just issued a service campaign for my car so I will be going straight to hyuandai to get that taken care of. Fingers crossed mine isn't a lemon.

Got lucky on that one. Most grenade very fast and they have massive oil consumption issues all Hyundais do. Mine does. My mom’s 2016 sonata 2.4 has burned oil since 58k and is ruining spark plugs. My Elantras engine is much better but it burns a little bit now at 102k.

@Kiki this is where the oil leaks on these engines, unless you have oil coming out of the tail pipes its probably leaking here. If the engine sounds like this you should be fine.
