I got hospitalized with Covid in 2021 and saw respiratory therapist but didn’t realize and didn’t know what they were, then my daughter got hospitalized for 10 days with septic pneumonia recently, realized what RT’s are and I enrolled in a college that has an RT program while she was in hospital. I’m two semesters down and starting the program in June hopefully.

Bec Respiratory Therapy jobs can be done by ICU nurse, Nurse Anesthetist, Advance Nurse Practitioner, Respiratory Care Nurse, Intensivist, Doctor, Biomed Engineer, Medtech. European, African, Australian, NZ hospitals exist even without RTs. But one thing cannot be denied, RTs are great professionals in the medical field.

The whole hospital is a team. Down to the people who clean the rooms and beds. We can’t do it without each other. I hope everyone in the hospital knows this.

Hey am in my first year of respiratory care and thinking of switching to rad tech or health management and informatics what do yall think any help? If i graduated from diagnostic imaging are there chances for promotion and getting to a better position? Or RT is a more rewarding field?
