Getting picked up by Netflix is the kiss of death Oscar-wise.

The film asks you to be present with it. To exist, to observe. It was so so beautiful

SPOILERS: No bc the people saying it’s bad, did they not notice the small symbolism of moving through life. The bird’s nest in the charred tree, the fire flower tea, and him returning back to the earth in his cabin?

I think you have to be over 35 to truly grasp the concept of the movie. I see a lot of young people saying that it was overrated or a boring story, but it was beautiful. I just don’t think they are at a point in their life yet to understand fully what it was about. That’s not a dis on young people just the reality of where they are in their life. If they watch it a little later in life it will hit differently🙂

This film will struggle in home viewings bc of that key word you said..attention. You have sit and let yourself be pulled into this movie and most people won’t be able to do that watching at home bc they will be distracted by their phones. I saw it in the theater and thought it was great..

I’m glad it’s on Netflix. The people that don’t have the patience & attention for this film at home were never going to be the audience that went to the theatre for it anyway. At least now the most beautiful film of 2025 has a chance to connect with the largest audience possible.

I thought this movie was absolutely perfect. I really hope it gets a larger theatrical release closer to Oscar time. That aspect ratio deserves a huge screen.

I loved watching Train Dreams on my tv but what I wouldn’t give anything to see Train Dreams at the cinema on the big screen. So breathtaking & emotional 10/10

This is how I feel about Hamnet, which I saw in the theater yesterday. Some movies just must be seen on the big screen.

Movies like this are perfect for the quiet winter months. Blanket, hot drink and all my attention.

Megan, I’d just like to toss this out there: I’m a dad with chronic pain, taking care of a disabled trans daughter. Streaming, for us, is a lifeline. I’m not saying it’s better than the theater experience; I’m not saying theaters should to away; I’m not saying I’ll stop loving to go to the theaters when I can. (When we can.) Just…consider folks like us. That’s all I ask.

It is far too repetitive, too many dream sequences, too many memories, threads that go nowhere and slllooooowww. Still enjoyed it. No film has ever changed anyones life.

I have just watched this movie... I call this a Dad movie because I don't think my daughters would like it and I don't recommend it because most of the men I have a beer with prefer a car chase... I loved this movie very much and it affected me since I always felt like my work took me away from my family and the fact that while Joel (who is amazing) is destroying the forest, the forest is destroying him... I can relate
