@sacramentourbanmedia916: Some Americans receiving benefits from the U.S. Social Security Administration will see their December payments arrive on an unusual schedule this year. Although every beneficiary will still receive their full benefits, the timing will shift, meaning checks — or direct deposits — may show up earlier than expected. Supplemental Security Income (#SSI) is provided to adults and children with limited financial resources who are blind or have qualifying disabilities. SSI payments are normally issued on the first day of each month, but when weekends or federal holidays interfere, the SSA adjusts the schedule. The December 1 SSI payment will be sent out as usual. However, because Jan. 1 is a federal holiday, January’s SSI benefit will be paid in advance on Dec. 31. A similar situation occurs the following month: February’s payment will be delivered on Jan. 30 since Feb. 1 lands on a Sunday. Traditional #SocialSecurity retirement and disability benefits follow a different schedule. Payment dates depend on the recipient’s birthdate: Those born from the 1st–10th are paid on the second Wednesday of the month. Birthdates from the 11th–20th receive payment on the third Wednesday. Individuals born from the 21st–31st get their checks on the fourth Wednesday. These adjustments mean December and January may look a little different for many beneficiaries — but no one will miss a payment.#viral #fyp #trending
