One thing I've realised travelling abroad, is that 'Australian' food -is- our cafe/brunch food. When there is an Australian restaurant overseas, they usually sell some variety of eggs benedict, corn fritters, avocado toast, halloumi w/ poached eggs, french toast, banana bread, granola, etc.

The drip black coffee I had in the US was horrible. I get it if you are used to it, like Vegemite I guess (acquired taste), but it’s bad. But I had bagels in NYC, and wow they were amazing. We need to lift our bagel game.

Bagels: moved back to Oz after 21yrs in the U.S. I now bring frozen bagels back with me when I visit America. Australia does NOT know how to make a good bagel. Also, I’ll fight you on the ‘great Mexican food’ though; where??? (I lived in San Diego, my Mexican food standards are high).

Just plain black coffee, is either a long or short black depending on what size you want. That’s what its called. I don’t drink coffee but both my work colleagues do.
