@vanessa_cwy: People often laugh at me when I speak Malay: ‘you sound like a kid reading karangan trying so hard’, ‘your Mandarin sounds like Hong Kong people’, ‘you lived in NZ but don’t even have their accent.’ I just keep my emotions in check… but honestly, don’t push it. If I start arguing in Cantonese, I think you’ll cry. 🔫🫣 Jokes aside, don’t laugh at people who are trying to learn another language, they probably speak more languages than you do. 🤗
