The Catholic and Orthodox Church have addressed this exact view. While they state that there is no salvation outside of the church, they do recognize that some outside of the Church may be saved and forgiven due to their lack of knowledge on Christ. The Catholic Church said that some people in other religions who truly didn’t know about Christ and Christianity could possible be saved. Please look into what the Catholic and Orthodox Church say when you have these thoughts because this is not a view that Christians hold to

That’s not the religions fault. Most denominations call for missionaries to spread the word of Jesus

This is actually a big debate in the Christian community lol. I personally don’t think if you don’t hear the word you go to heaven.

Romans 1 & 2 covers this to a certain extent. Essentially there is no such thing as a non resistant non believer if Christianity is true. Even to the one who is on an Island who dies never hearing of Christ, God knows their heart and God is just. So we are justified in believing God will bring judgment in the most just way, meaning they may in fact end up in heaven under Christ’s grace. So missionaries should be going out and spreading the gospel as we are commissioned by God to do so, we have to trust that God will be just with those who would believe but never got to hear.

Islam answers this clearly, in the Quran. 17:15"And We would never punish ˹a people˺ until We have sent a messenger ˹to warn them˺." And a number of authentic hadiths state that people who havent heard of Islam, along with the deaf, Insane, and others, will be tested accordingly in the afterlife based on their life and what they knew.

Though I agree, the Bible states that all will hear about Jesus in one way or another and therefore salvation is their choice. The real problem I think lies in fate and free will regarding the decision to accept salvation.

the worst thing is the counter argument that Christians have which is if you don’t have knowledge you go to heaven can be refuted by saying wouldn’t the morally correct thing to do is not to preach or raise your kid as an atheist and indoctrinate him so more people are guaranteed heaven

Not really the bible says that that those who don't have the law (scriptures) will be judged by his conscience, Christians are called to spread the gospel so that people know the word and can live a life atleast knowing what the word of God, also the bible says that those who seek him will be recompasated. God doesn't judge the lack of knowledge cus that would be unfair

it doesn't work like that, yes we should spread the gospel so that people know the sacrifice that Jesus made for us but God is also just, fair, and merciful. You're right it wouldn't be fair to send that person to hell and if they never heard the gospel or about Jesus i would imagine that they would have to recognize the fact that all of this comes from something greater than themselves and learn on their own about it. Kinda what i would assume the native americans did with "the great spirit" and follow the moral code that everyone is born with- and when they fall short, recognize it. It's not the sin that sends people to hell - everyone sins that's the point, it's the relationship with Jesus and living for God that gets you into heaven. I can't say that this is exactly what would need to happen because from what i know the bible doesn't talk abt this but this or something similar is what i would imagine would need to happen
