@mrcodydahler: So Chancellor Rachel Reeves delivered her stinking budget yesterday and boy was there a lot to unpack… we’re talking tax thresholds, mansion taxes, gambling taxes, train fares and lots of other sneaky sneaky measures! What did you think of it? #ukpolitics #budget #economy #tax #comedy
I appreciate your content so much dude, I am such a thicky thicky dumb dumb but you allow me to pretend I’m not 🥰

People earning £50,000 a year are not rich. They’re normal working people. They ought to be taxing the super rich, millionaires, billionaires. All of the high businesses that dodge tax at every turn. The energy companies in the energy crisis who are making record profits, the supermarkets in the cost of living crisis who are making record profits. People stop pointing your fingers at the ‘middle class’ they are not the problem.

but they will only pay 40% on the amount of their salary that goes over that 50k amount right? so they wont get much of a pay rise. ok fine. its not as bad as people make it out to be... and by the way I am on that threshold. I would rather they taxed the rich but its not a lot to sacrifice for the benefits

They did close inheritance tax loopholes and ended the non dom status. Those were the two things done to help with billionaires tax avoidance

£2million in central London can literally get you a 1 bed flat in some areas. She’s not taxing the super rich, even with this aspect of the budget. Yes, you have to be wealthy to buy a £2million house, even with a mortgage, but these are the people who WORK HARD and pay A LOT of tax (corporation, vat, income, etc.) not the people who are super rich with generational wealth
