I think Glinda fell in love with the idea of Fiyero. Rich, popular, high status. On paper he seemed perfect, she thought she loved him, but she fell in love with the fake version of him before he woke up and realised he was shallow and had to start doing the right thing, which is what he saw in Elphaba
