@fogboundmemories: 🇨🇦 The Highway of Tears is tied to a long history of disappearances in northern British Columbia Canada. The RCMP officially recognizes 18 women and girls who were m*rdered or went missing along the corridor. Indigenous communities and researchers believe the real number is far higher. Many estimate more than 50 victims and some say it could be dozens beyond that because many cases were never linked or properly recorded. yeah no , not 50 way more of our indigenous woman have gotten taken from us just not found and it’s so depressing because they were all so beautiful each and every one of them

I wish someone would try go through the highway of tears and document everything! If I had the funds and meta glasses I would!

Reminder that many more women (especially indigenous) have likely gone missing there/taken because of police bias

justice for women everywhere 💔

Danielle_Çurvs :

a lot of natives have gone missing and a lot have never been found. 🕊❤️🪶

sillymaus :

The numbers are always higher than we think. Many of the recorded statistics are actually lower than they should be, unreported or lost to carelessness

i lived behind that sign as a kid, I had to cross highway 16 everyday for school in Thornhill. when I was 16 leaving basketball practice I crossed that highway and when I started around the corner on the Access road, I was looking at that sign and a young woman. she was wearing nothing but a shirt and shoes, she wouldn't tell me anything about her only repeated what happened to her. I put my coat around her and took her home. my partner and I took her to the hospital and I never saw her again. .

after studying so much about the holocaust and other genocides it disgusts me so much how humans can do these things and are willing to do it :(
