What's disturbing to me and gives me the shivers every time I think about it is that a 50-year-old man (Mortimer) is stalking a 17-year-old girl like this, to the point of having her expelled from school just because she fell in love with his son and isn't rich. I hate this moment because even if it was"true" Ruby don't deserved that outcome in any world, like why she is getting her future taken, her life ruined, and all by a creepy professor in a position of power, we all know she didn't any of that and she is no even the person they are looking for, also the Mortimer mess, but like in what world is fair she gets punished by something even if was true she don't have any control about, she would be the victim anyway true or not(that we know is no true of course).
