Have a friend in assisted living who 96 in Savannah Georgia, yes,she is hard of hearing. I'm 75,still in fairly good health. I haven't noticed my hearing waning. I can still see without glasses, though I do need glasses to read. As I've gotten older,I understand how I can't keep up with the younger generation. Although I still maintain my house and property, which I'm thankful for. I try to be more patient with older people than me. I know that giving up your independence is something that I definitely don't want to do. I try to learn and listen to what they have to say. I've come to the decision that what bothers me I stay away from them or that.

I take my step mother to all her appointments because she can't hear or see...it's really sad but it's a blessing also that she has lived as long as she has 🥰

often people are mumbling. especially girls who talk in a higher pitch. speaking slowly in lower tones helps.

I pray I am healthy for a long time. I realize I have lived a lot more years than I have left. Hearing and eyesight are important to our heath as we get older. Losing them can affect mental heath which in turn affects physical health.

i agree im 75 and hearing aids just jacked up the rackett. when everbody was wearing mask so i cant see their lips i was really deaf.

What I don’t understand is why people don’t get things fixed whenever they start breaking down whether it’s your knees or your hips or your ears. There’s hearing aids out there. But the people that need them aren’t doing anything about it. I don’t get it. And I’m a senior citizen.

I worked in a nursing home for 23 years yelling at the old folks cause they can’t hear then I try to carry on a conversation with people who can hear i feel like I am screaming at them because I’ve had to talk so loud for all these years
