my husband worked and my son was with his dad. I refused to go to my brother's house 5 hrs away. I slept in. had an everything shower, and enjoyed multiple true crime shows & the residence on netflix. It felt like pure freedom to me.

There is a huge difference between being alone and lonely. The first few holidays it seems lonely, eventually it is enjoyable being alone. Stick to your morals and boundaries, you will be fine
