They promoted me to senior level for smashing it, promised to fix my salary, and then two months later laid me off due to budget cuts. Apparently I was smashing it a bit too hard 😅

Play hard to impress/bully in this case try and get a pay raise if not not possible keep the role stay a couple of months then look for a new company using the new position as leverage. 👍

This happened to me, but they don’t even call it a promotion just a ‘we expect you to do a lot more than everyone else because you are efficient’ with the occasional ‘well done’ email
