@helentaylorrr: it was time for one of those recipes we can allllll do…you just need a lil time and care <3 you'll need: - 500g strong white bread flour - 7g fast action yeast - 10g salt - 2tbsp olive oil - 300-400ml warm water (don't add it all at once) (to serve): - butter - honey (optional) method: 1. begin by placing the flour in a large shallow bowl. 2. add in the salt and yeast on seperate sides of the bowl (ensuring they don't touch). 3. make a well in the centre with a large spoon. 4. pour in the olive oil and then about 200ml of the water into the well. 5. stir it all together with a spoon and gradually add more water until you form a dough. 6. once you have cleaned the bowl of any remaining dough, place onto a work surface. knead for about 10-15 minutes until smooth and elastic. 7. (if you don't know how to knead) use the heel of your dominant hand to push the dough away from you, and then fold inwards. 8. rotate the dough 90 degrees and repeat this process until the dough is smooth and stretchy. 9. place into a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a tea towel / cling film. 10. leave the bowl in a warm area for about 1hr or until doubled in size. 11. if your house is cold, leave the bread for half an hour longer as it will take longer to rise. 12. once doubled in size, tip the dough onto your work surface and punch all of the air out using your fists. 13. gather all corners inwards into the centre, pinching tightly as you go. 14. turn the dough over and use both hands to tightly form into a ball. 15. place into a lined 900g loaf tin (or a flat baking tray) and cover with a tea towel. leave to rise for another half an hour. 16. preheat the oven to 220c (200 fan) and using a sharp knife, make 3 incisions across the top of the loaf. 17. sprinkle with a little bit of flour (optional) and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. 18. once baked, remove the bread from its tin and allow to cool on a wire rack. 19. serve sliced whilst warm with some butter and honey... nothing better xxx ##breakfastinspo##bread##breadrecipe##breadtok##baking
