Dismissive avoidant here. Attachment styles are adaptive nervous system patterns, shaped by early relationships. They are not spiritual verdicts. If someone has a dismissive-avoidant pattern, it means: Closeness was unpredictable or overwhelming once. God doesn’t shame avoidance. He compassionately disarms it. And when God finally becomes safe to them, That faith is unshakeable.

There is nowhere in the Bible that talks about dismissive avoidance. Those are labels. God never uses. All we need to do is just call what it is our nature, plain, and simple. We don’t need to put any kind of labels on it. We are all fallen and we fall short, the grace of God.

Going through this now. The stress of it is taking such a toll on me. He doesn't respect me or my boundaries. I know I should walk away but I can't seem to do it. It's so hard. I just keep praying for a breakthrough.

Very true! I just got out of a 2 year relationship with a women exactly like this, it was the most confusing, anxious, worry, fear & depressed relationship I've ever been in 🥺 I thought things would change because of my belief in God..... God was actually teaching me a lesson. Now I'll know what to look for & use godly discernment!

I absolutely love that you shared this. There’s so much info about avoidants but not from the Christian perspective. My ex is Christian and an avoidant. It was so confusing to process and see spiritual warfare happening. It’s been a year and it still crosses my mind daily and is something I’m actively healing from.
