At some point have his owner discussed having him groomed at a vets office with mild sedation to keep him from stress? Not a full twilight groom, although some practices will do that service of COMPLETELY necessary.

My mom was a groomer and she used to just start singing really loudly and the dogs wouldn’t know what to do and she went about her business 😂 give it a go!

I don't know the owner's situation so I won't speculate, I can only say that if one of my animals was like this at the groomer I'd learn how to groom it myself.

I think he did pretty good. & was very happy at the end of it all. im sure if they keep bringing him to you he'll get better & used to you. you do amazing job with your clients & their pets
