do these solely operate via feeding back into batteries or can it be tied directly into the grid as such, to offset / reduce meter bill? How does that work or is it solely subject to battery and feedback into house/grid that way?

Thats a lot, if you work it out. A 9 kWh shower is used for 10 minutes on average. Hourly usage and actual usage differ. A 2 kWh generator is more than enough, for the average home, with the right battery set up 👍
