Deisel burns at a higher temperature than gasoline. Their engines operate at a higher compression ratio than gasoline engines causing combustion to occur at much higher temperatures

OEM Turbos in a diesel enginew are used to help the engine reach its full potential when needed, turbos in gasoline engines are made to compensate poor performance on the now "eco" engines.

So your saying it’s bad to cruise around the city in a diesel ? 🤣

Define struggle... As in why are you saying they struggle? Theres not throttle plate and the valves are of the same design as gas engines.

So what is the solution for trapped pressure in turbos

diesel engines breath just the same as gasoline engines do naturally aspirated. However most diesels don't turn a lot of rpm so if you want to make significant power levels out of a normal diesel engine at 3500 rpm you have to add more air somehow. a 3l diesel at 3500rpm and 1bar of boost will make very similar power to a na 3l engine at 7k rpm

These turbos Tundra engines are only boosting 20lbs MAX. My diesel max boost is 50lbs, what are you saying?

diesel is harder to combust but burn much hotter. some diesels have throttle bodies. diesels run more compression. they typically run more boost.

I could never drive a manual diesel, the few that I had owned, I kept redlining them without wanting to, I'm just too used to a petrol in particular K20

Engines don't truly "pull" air in, they create a low-pressure area and the surrounding atmosphere, with its inherent high pressure, pushes the air into this void, filling the space. It's a difference in pressure, with the higher pressure outside forcing its way into the lower pressure inside the engine.

There is a lot missing from your explanation. Each Truck OEM makes different types of truck applications. All have turbos. Some trucks run long haul, some are regional haul and severe service. So this doesn't make complete sense. Diesels need turbos to generate more power to move fast. Diesel engines that are naturally aspirated run really good but they don't get up to speed fast at all. You need a turbo to help build torque and HP.

WHAT??? HELP THE ENGINE PULL AIR IN?????? engines don't pull air in, the valve opens and atmospheric pressure pushes air into the engine or compressor inlet. some gasoline engines that aren't designed for a turbo can have better Volumetric Efficiency than the diesels that are designed for boosted applications where VE isn't as crucial. all engines are fed air from the pressure of the atmosphere. Average diesels boost pressures are higher than gas vehicles. diesel has more energy than gasoline, but has to be injected under high pressure to atomize. most diesel vehicles have pyrometers measuring egts because of extreme heat. finally some of newer diesels do have throttle bodies.
